The CBP thanks the UMass Center for Teaching and Faculty Development for the award of a Mellon Mutual Mentoring Grant to form a new Five College Biophysics Network (FCBN). The grant will provide for biweekly lunch meetings to engender collaboration and interaction between researchers who are often separated by disciplinary, departmental, and college boundaries. Funds are also available to start a biophysics seminar series, and to bring in professional mentors, writers, or program managers to run workshops on topics of particular interest to early-career biophysicists.
