Graduate Research

Graduate students in physics are encouraged to get involved in research as soon as possible.

Links to descriptions of the main research areas of the department are available at our Research Overview page.

The department also maintains lists of previous Grad Research Projects going back to 2008, including M.S. and Ph.D. theses. Peruse some of those titles to get a feel for the type of research work that has been done. There is also a (partial) list of Graduate Research Opportunities with faculty who are actively searching for graduate research students. However, not all researchers choose to post positions online, so if you are interested in working with a particular faculty member, you should feel free to contact that person directly.
