Ninja Enzymes from the Ross Lab

Publication date: Mon, May 23, 2011 - 4:44pm

The research of Professor Jennifer Ross was recently featured in the cover of the Biophysical Journal. The artistic cover, designed by Dr. Ross and her postdoc, Dr. Daniel Diaz, is an allegory for their article on single molecule studies of how the Drosophila Katanin enzyme, represented as ninja flies with Japanese katana swords, is able to sever and depolymerize microtubules, represented as red dragons. The cover and blog interview with Ross can be found at the Journal webpage along with the article.
