Droplet encapsulation

new paper in Science authored by Physics postdoctoral researcher Deepak Kumar, former postdoc Joey Paulsen and Narayanan Menon, along with polymer scientist Tom Russell, describes the rapid, dynamical process by which a liquid droplet can be seamlessly encapsulated in a thin polymer sheet. The final shape of the droplet can be patterned into the sheet, and the method is quite  general. The research is described in a perspective and a video created by Science magazine, and has been featured in the UMass News, as well as in Chemical and Engineering News and Phys.Org.
