Abstract:

Vector boson scattering (VBS) processes are interesting processes to study at the LHC since they are closely related to the Electroweak Symmetry Breaking mechanism. I will first review previous studies with VBS and anomalous triple (quartic) gauge couplings, and then I will present the first evidence of the same-sign WW VBS process and the first observation of the Z VBS process. The dataset used were collected by the ATLAS detector at 8 TeV. Events with two same-sign electrons or muons with two forward jets are analyzed for the same-sign WW VBS process. Events with two opposite-sign electrons or muons with two forward jets are analyzed for the Z VBS process.
