Abstract:
Spontaneous phase separation has recently emerged as an essential driver of cytoplasmic organization. Inspired by these phenomena, we are exploring the condensation of liquid droplets in polymer networks. I will describe experiments suggesting that elastic stresses in the network can regulate the size, shape, location, and long-term stability of liquid droplets.
