Upper division physics major needed to help grade Physics 121 (Einstein's Dice) for Fall 2017.

Grading help needed for Physics 121 (Einstein's Dice) for Fall 2017. Upper division physics majors who have completed Physics 284 (Intro to Modern Physics) and preferably 424 (Quantum Mechanics) will be considered.

Einstein's Dice is a 4-credit course that satisfies the physical science (PS) general education requirement. In this course, students are introduced to the concepts of quantum mechanics, the framework used to understand and model the microscopic world. Homework for the course consists primarily of weekly writing assignments; roughly 1000-word essays. There are also two term papers (one mid semester and one final) each roughly 2500 words. Applicants for the grading job must be skilled at writing and editing.

The job requires a 10-hour/week commitment on average (but somewhat irregular) and pays $11/hr. Two and a half hours a week are spent in class (TuTh 8:30-9:45am) , one hour a week in a training meeting, the rest grading papers.

Interested parties should contact Prof. Guy Blaylock and be prepared to submit references and a writing sample.
