Prof. Santangelo is a soft condensed matter theorist who comes to us from the University of Pennsylvania, where he has been a postdoc for the past three years. His research focuses on soft materials such as liquid crystals and polymers and, especially, the role of geometry in the self-assembly of these materials into complex structures.
