UMass physicists in the news!

The Large Hadron Collider came on line again this week, and the UMass ATLAS group of Brau, Dallapiccola, and Willocq are back in the hunt for the Higgs boson and for other new physics.

Andrea Pocar and UMass colleague Krishna Kumar have been funded by the NSF to work on the Enriched Xenon Observatory (EXO) experiment, to study neutrinoless double beta decay deep in a salt mine in New Mexico.

UMass theorists Prokof'ev, Svistunov and their student Gunes Soyler have recently proposed a dislocation-mediated mechanism for the supersolid properties of Helium. Soyler has gone on to a prestigious postdoc at ICTP, Trieste.
