Assistant Professor Romain Vasseur has been awarded a 2019 Sloan Research Fellowship - one of a select group of early career faculty from the US and Canada to receive this honor. According to the Sloan Foundation, these "early career scholars represent the most promising scientific researchers working today. Their achievements and potential place them among the next generation of scientific leaders in the U.S. and Canada." Romain is one of three awardees from UMass Amherst this year; the last UMass awardee was in 2012. He is quoted in a UMass News article saying that he will use his award to further his research on many-body quantum systems that are far from equilibrium. Congratulations, Romain!
