Airflow in a car: new research from Varghese Mathai

Assistant Professor Varghese Mathai, who joined the Physics Department in August 2020 in the midst of a global pandemic, has a newly published research article in Science Advances that might be helpful to those wondering how to take precautions when sharing a vehicle. Titled Airflows inside passenger cars and implications for airborne disease transmission, the paper explores how strategically opening windows might allow turbulent airflow to remove infectious droplets from the car.
