Abstract:

SNOLAB is a laboratory 2-kilometers underground in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada. The laboratory is underground to reduce the ionizing radiation background from cosmic sources. The research program at SNOLAB is centered on rare event searches that are limited by cosmic radiation in other locations. Most experiments involve testing hypotheses about the nature of dark matter and the nature of the neutrino. There is a small multi-disciplinary program addressing other scientific questions. I will describe the entire program and discuss a few specifics about a study to look at the possibility of adding capability for nuclear treaty verification to the suite of activities at SNOLAB.
