Abstract:
Elastic scattering of an electron from a proton is one of the fundamental processes in the Standard Model. The increasing precision of experiments has uncovered some puzzles. In particular, the question of how many photons are exchanged has been pursued by the OLYMPUS experiment. New results will be presented. Further, this process can be used to search for new physics beyond the Standard Model. The DarkLight experiment at Jefferson has recently been installed to look for new physics in e+e- final-states from elastic electron-proton scattering. The status and prospects will be summarized.
