Exploring the landscape of scale separated (A)dS vacua

I will describe recent and ongoing progress in enumerating four dimensional N=1 and N=0 vacuum solutions of type IIB string theory on Calabi-Yau orientifolds with fluxes and D-branes, featuring exponential separation between the Hubble scale and all scales of microscopic physics such as the Kaluza-Klein and string scale. More precisely I will outline the explicit construction of a broad landscape of low energy effective field theories — dubbed perturbatively flat vacua — in which the superpotential is generated entirely by non-perturbative effects. Such EFTs generically feature supersymmetric AdS solutions with exponential separation of scales, one of which I will display explicitly, but in rare instances might host non-supersymmetric AdS and dS solutions. I will emphasize significant tuning problems that arise in the search for non-supersymmetric vacua and outline present efforts to overcome these.
