Surveying the Landscape

Date:
Monday, April 15, 2024 - 8:00am to Wednesday, April 17, 2024 - 1:00pm
Location:

LGRT 1033

This workshop will explore ongoing progress in understanding the landscape of quantum gravity theories, as well as important open questions in this field and strategies for addressing them in the future.

The workshop is divided into five sessions with different themes:

Monday AM: Top-down constructions via string theory

Monday PM: Cosmology and scale separation in the landscape

Tuesday AM: Generalized global symmetries and connections to particle physics

Tuesday PM: Connections to holography, black holes, and amplitudes

Wednesday AM: "Bottom-up" attempts to bound the landscape via consistency conditions, conjectured principles, etc.

Organizers:
Naomi Gendler - Harvard
Ben Heidenreich - UMass Amherst
John Stout - Harvard
